Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of former President Donald Trump and co-chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC), on Tuesday predicted softening in the feud between former President Donald Trump and Governor Brian Kemp after the Georgia leader reportedly offered his “political machine” to the Trump-Vance ticket.
The prediction came after the former president described Kemp as “disloyal” during an August 3 rally in Atlanta, which prompted questions about whether the relationship between the men that developed after the 2020 election results would impact the Trump campaign in November.
Asked about the former president’s relationship with the governor in the weeks since the Atlanta rally, Lara Trump told WSB-TV Channel 2, “I think that there will be a softening of things between the two of them, and I think that they both realize, look, this is a must-win election.”
She added that the men are likely to realize they should “join forces” because of their shared political views.
“I actually think that is what you will see happen very soon if it already hasn’t happened between Donald Trump and Brian Kemp,” Lara Trump told the outlet.
The RNC co-chair’s prediction comes after Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) claimed during an August 9 Fox News appearance that Kemp promised his “political machine” to the Trump campaign in a private fundraiser held at the home of former Senator Kelly Loeffler after the Atlanta rally.
“When he spoke, the first thing out of his mouth, he looked at everybody in the room and said, ‘I want Donald Trump to win Georgia. I’m all in for Donald Trump. I’m going to give him my political machine,'” said Graham.

The governor has not publicly commented on the feud since the Trump campaign’s rally in Atlanta, but in May, he formally endorsed the Republican ticket, including the former president.
Kemp was optimistic about Donald Trump’s candidacy last year. He said the conditions were right for him to win Georgia in 2024 and declared the former president “a lot better than Biden.”
The Trump-Vance campaign continues to narrowly lead the Harris-Walz ticket in Georgia, according to the RealClearPolling aggregate of surveys, which shows the former president winning in both a head-to-head contest and a contest including independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and third party presidential nominees.
